Plywood Fixture Plate
Using a sacrificial plywood base can make an excellent solution to protecting the machine, clamping and aligning issues, and having multiple students prep a single machine at once.
The plywood is locked into the T track with 1/4 20 hex bolts. 1/4 diameter holes are placed above the open T track slots so dowel rods can be used for alignment. If students connect the dots horizontally, they can use that line to determine where it would be safe to add a screw if additional features or hold downs need to be added.
Applying tape down to the plywood, then tape to the underside of the material, followed by super glue in between acts and a fantastic clamp that doesn't involve a potential collision.
